In-line ultrasonic angle beam inspection (CD)

A crack may be invisible to the naked eye, but it can lead to catastrophic consequences. Detecting cracks is a serious problem, as only a specialized ILI tool designed for such tasks is capable of seeing and identifying this defect. Ultrasonic technology with angle beam, using a large number of sensors arranged in the direction of each other, is the most informative method for detecting defects such as: cracks in the pipe body or welds, stress corrosion cracking, mechanical scratches and marks, which cannot be detected by other in-line inspection methods due to their physical limitations. The ultrasonic ILI angle beam tool developed by NGPME LLC has high accuracy in determining the geometric parameters of defects, the angular position of features, and the distance traveled.
